Calling all footballers at Oxford University

If you are a member of an Oxford college, please register for an ouafc.com account. Once you have registered you will be able to log into your own college's section of the site and add news and match reports, post messages in your own college's forum, edit other players' biographies, enter quizzes and vote in polls. You can view detailed statistics on all football matches played at Oxford University: the more people register, the more comprehensive the data will be so please help us out by contributing. Even if you don't play football, you are welcome to register.

Queen's Flair Met With Lincoln Resilience As Title Goes To Final Day

In radiant March sunshine, the two dominant teams of the JCR Second Division took to the pitch, knowing that victory for either would almost certainly guarantee a unique double promotion (owing to impending league restructuring). With both teams having played 11 games prior to the fixture and deadlocked on 30 points and +26 goal difference, it is surely the tightest JCR league since records began. The pre-match talk was dominated by the “will they, won’t they shake hands” controversy between skippers Hardman and Thomasson after an incident of a personal nature, which cannot be discussed due to a High Court super-injunction. Thankfully they did to the relief of anxious spectators, who had feared ugly scenes.

Varsity: Furies send the Tabs back home empty-handed

In a match that can only be described as ‘nail-biting’ and ‘thrilling’ by spectators and players alike, the Oxford Furies triumph over their Cambridge adversaries 3-2.

Set on an unusual blue-lined and equally unusual blue-skied pitch, the Furies arrived at Christ Church sports ground on the 20th of February unfazed by a last-minute venue change, This season has seen a solid selection of players eligible for Varsity with great displays of skill, courage and teamwork in previous matches against testing opponents in the Midlands division. A scan of the league table throughout the season would show that statistically, Oxford were ahead of Cambridge on points and goals – surely a confidence boost for any team about to meet their rivals. Women's Varsity Matches This Weekend

The women's Blues season reaches its climax this Saturday with the 25th women's varsity match which will be held at Iffley Road, kicking off at 2pm. The Oxford Blues will be looking to retain the varsity trophy they won last year against their Cambridge counterparts.

The team will be going into the match on a high after a victory on penalties over Worcester University on Wednesday and will be looking to continue that winning feeling over the weekend.

The match is preceded by the Oxford Furies playing the Cambridge Eagles at the Christ Church sportsgrounds which kicks off at 10 30am. Captain Rachel Parry will be looking for her side to produce one of their performances of the season against their opponents in order to retain their varsity crown which was won last year with a 1-0 victo...
